Tropical Toucan in Flowerbed Wall Hanging

Well hello there, my friends! A new free pattern is coming your way. This was quite the last minute project but I am super happy with the result.

Are you ready for summer? Because I am! And this toucan is totally giving me the tropical summer vibes. This wall hanging can be quite tricky for beginners, since it does require a lot of colour changes. If you haven't made one yet, check out my Boho Plant Wall Hanging. Let's start with this pattern!

Notes:

• Size: Depending on yarn used, about 26cm wide and 30cm long (not including fringe)
• The wall hanging is worked in rows.
• The wall hanging is worked is worked form the buttom up.
• Do not use a turning chain, your edges will be more straight without one.
• The entire wall hanging is worked with single crochet (US terms)
• The pattern is a colour block pattern, each block indicates the colour and has a number inside, the number indicates how many single crochets have to be done in this specific colour.
• Odd rows are as indicated the right side, even rows are the wrong side.
  I used the cut and tie method to change colours, but mixed it with tapestry crochet or leaving the yarn attached and working with multiple yarn balls attached to the work.
  It is important to change colour at the second half of a single crochet, when you 'yarn over' the second time, use the new colour.

Gauge is not important, as long as you are crocheting tight and even.

You will find the chart and colour pattern as a free pattern. The numbers within the color blocks indicate how many times the color is repeated.

End your work by using needle and left over thread and attach the work to a dowel or pretty stick you found outside.
